Shoalhaven Winery Trip
Following on from the great success the overnight trip to Orange proved to be back in March – such positive feedback received from those who went – the Club is tentatively arranging an overnight trip to Nowra on 2-3 September for members.
Come along and enjoy a scenic drive, some delicious food, visits to a couple of wineries and a distillery, an overnight stay and of course each other’s company!
The indicative schedule is along the lines of the following:
- Saturday 2 Sept: 8.30am or so … depart Canberra as a group and either go up the highway or via Batemans Bay, enjoy a morning tea stop along the way, or make your own way, and reach Cambewarra Estate at Bangalee (https://www.cambewarraestate.com.au/) for lunch and a tasting flight of 4 wines. ($20.00pp for wine tasting)
- Saturday after lunch – visit the Silo Estate winery (https://silosestate.com/) and enjoy a tasting ($15.00pp); and / or the Tara Distillery (https://www.taradistillery.com/ ) for gin and/or whiskey tasting and tour of the distillery ($5.00pp).
- Saturday evening, 7:30pm – dinner at Ponte Bar and Dining, Nowra, (https://www.pontebaranddining.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Ponte-Dinner-Menu-A4-Front-Door-Frame-and-Website.pdf or a set menu depending on numbers) a four minute walk from the hotel Pleasant Way River Lodge, Nowra https://pleasantway.com.au/ ($165.00 – Executive Queen room, safe internal courtyard parking)
- Sunday 3 Sept morning – breakfast or brunch TBA
Sunday - return at your own pace. If coming down the coast road to Batemans Bay you may like to have lunch at Cupitt’s winery at Ulladulla – great food and usually live music on Sundays.
We currently have 10 rooms at the Pleasant Way River Lodge booked, so first in … please note, availability at the various hotels/motels is quickly becoming limited for this weekend. This event will be lightly subsidised by the Club.
Please contact the club at club@porsche-club-canberra.asn.au if you're interested in joining the event to check on availability.
Really looking forward to a fun weekend!
