Planning for LuftWasser 2022 is well under way. Next year's event will again be held in Albury-wodonga, from April 2nd - 4th, and will follow the same format as this year's inaugural event.
The format is;
A Saturday morning get together and static display on the banks of the Murray River at Noureil Park in Albury.
A Saturday afternoon drive through the stunning scenery of the area
A Gala Dinner on Saturday night at the award winning Huon Hill function centre
A professionally organised track day (non-timed "spirited driving") on Sunday at Barnawartha Raceway just west of Wodonga
There are other drives and activities for those who aren't doing the track day, or who don't want to stay at the track all day.
A group dinner on Sunday night. Again, at Huon Hill
A drive and group lunch at a local winery. Last year was at Weathercraft Winery in Beechworth, which is itself owned by a longtime Porsche enthusiast.
For those who haven't heard about Luftwasser, it's a 3 day event specifically for Porsche sportscar models of any year. Yes, sportscars only. We've specifically excluded Cayennes, Macans & Panameras. Not that they're not excellent cars. They just don't fit into what our event is about.
This year we had 176 entries (and around 230 people), ranging from quite early 356's to the latest 992's &, 718's, and everything in between. The team at Porsche Centre Melbourne were also kind enough to bring a new Taycan for people to look at. The people are a very diverse bunch from all walks of life, and that's really what made the event so successful. There are no trophies at LuftWasser. Once again, that's not what the event is about. It's about providing a fun, relaxed, and non competitive atmosphere for like minded people.
For the maiden event, there were entrants from South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, ACT, New South Wales, and Queensland. We've already got one confirmed entry making the trip over from Western Australia.
